Depending on your preferred type of camping, you can escape to one of our many RV parks and campgrounds that are nestled in rich, green, wooded areas or those providing access to a bright and spacious lakefront.

While camping with your friends and family, here in Michigan, you have more choices for activity than we can name. Many of our member campgrounds offer themed weekends. These fun-filled weekends provide you and the kids plenty of activities and ways to meet some new camping friends. Many Michigan campers have made life-long friends while camping and look forward each year to catching up.

Some of the themed weekends you will come across are pancake breakfasts, pet parades, big 4th of July celebrations, Halloween and Harvest Festival costume contests and trick or treating. You might like Candy Bar Bingo, hay rides, group craft making, face painting, Matchbox car races, Ice Cream Socials, tug-o-war, or dressing like a pirate. A variety of these activities can be enjoyed in one of our family-friendly campgrounds and RV parks.

Add to that, Michigan’s easy access to water skiing, swimming, canoeing, tubing, hiking, bicycling, beach time, Morel Mushroom hunting, dark sky parks, and bird watching. When you’re camping in Michigan you have an activity buffet just waiting for you so make your reservation and get settled into your campsite.

Our member parks are experts in helping you plan your group camping trip as well, no matter how small or large it may be. And, as for your pets…they are part of the family and most of our member parks welcome your fur-babies with dog runs and even a few pet washing stations.

Upper Peninsula

There is no limit to the activities you can take part in while you are camping and RVing in Michigan. Our beautiful Upper Peninsula is open to your exploration. There, you’ll find plenty of things to discover such as our world-famous pasties, an abundance of natural waterfalls, historic copper mines, a fascinating shipwreck museum, plenty of casinos, get a peak at the Northern Lights, take a trip through the Soo Locks, walk or bike your way around Mackinac Island, chase your kids around some sand dunes, and stop to appreciate our many scenic outlooks along the way.


The Northwest region of the Lower Peninsula hosts Traverse City’s Annual Cherry Festival and Charlevoix’s Venetian Festival. If you’re camping in the Northeast area of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, you’ll be able to connect with the Sunrise Side Wine & Hops Trail, and Mackinaw City’s Iron Worker Festival or the Labor Day Bridge Walk.


For Southwest Lower Peninsula camping lovers, take a day trip from your chosen campsite or cabin rental to visit Ypsilanti’s Beer Fest, Grand Rapids’ Art Prize, the Holland Tulip Festival, or Grand Haven’s popular Kite Festival. For those who are camping in the Southeast region, there is the Ann Arbor Film Festival or the Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival to experience during your summer camping trip.

Many of our member RV parks and campgrounds are located near other points of interest and entertainment. You can explore Farmers’ Markets, Michigan Wine Tours, Sample the Craft Beer we are becoming famous for, indulge in some fresh cider tasting, see maple syrup being made, eat fresh, sweet, Michigan cherries, visit a pumpkin patch, see historic museums, visit art galleries, and attend our many local city celebrations.
